August 25:
Paul, Diana, and Karsten accompanied me on the second sail of my new boat; which was also the first sail after having moved aboard.
That being said, a few things were bound to go a little wrong.

Donations to the Bay God:

  • 22# Danforth anchor
  • 25' triple braid line
  • 8" Lewmar locking winch handle
  • 8gal against the dryness of my boat

The morals learned from the day's sailing include:

  • Channel concept very important near low tide
  • Danforth anchors hold exceptionally well under heavy load in bay mud
  • Use of mast mounted winch handle holder under way not recommended
  • Securing of freeboard hatches quite important pre-sail check

Karsten wins the MVP award for the day by arriving not three hours later at the boat-war ming party with not only a 22# Danforth anchor- but 2 velcro- mounted drink holders.
