Speakers' Biographies

The Reverend Dr. Rodney I. Page is the Executive Director of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. In 1992, Dr. Page was appointed chair of the Civil Rights Council, which operates under the Bureau of Labor and Industries. In 1986, Dr. Page co-founded the Jewish/Christian Association of Oregon, which is dedicated to peace and justice concerns as well as promoting better understanding between Christian and Jews. In 1988, Dr. Page co-founded the Oregon Interreligious Committee for Peace in the Middle East.

Rabbi Emanuel Rose has served as the Senior Rabbi for the past thirty-five years at Temple Beth Israel in Portland, Oregon. He is the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Lewis and Clark College and the former President of the Oregon Board of Rabbis. His present activities include serving as a board member for both the American Jewish Committee and the Regional Drug Initiative. In addition he serves on the Commission on Social Action of Reform Judaism

The Reverend Cecil Charles Prescod is a minister at the Highland United Church of Christ in Portland, Oregon. He serves on the National Council of the Fellowship of Reconciliation and is chairperson of the Oregon Fellowship of Reconciliation. He is on the steering committee of People of Faith Against Bigotry, an interfaith coalition established in 1992 to oppose anti-gay ballot initiatives. Among the Board of Directors that Rev. Prescod serves on are the Coalition for Human Dignity and Ministries for Racial and Social Justice.
