ABSTRACTWave equation datuming represents the process of upward or downward continuing seismic data to a new reference surface. Usually datuming algorithms are based on the Kirchhoff integral solution to the wave equation. I present a new wave-equation datuming algorithm based on wavefield continuation through Fourier methods which handles laterally and depth varying velocity models. I show datuming results for different velocity models and the migration results before and after datuming. |
