ABSTRACT

Various wavelet transforms are compared and the fundamentals of wavelet transforms are examined. While wavelet transforms appear to provide much promise for signal processing, we found no apparent application other than some limited data compression possibilities. The absence of useful properties within the transformed domain, such as the derivative property in the Fourier transform, account for the present lack of applications.
