In this section I review basic notions on adaptive subtraction. Then
I present an improved scheme that better separates interfering noise
and signal. All my derivations are based upon the assumption that
we want to subtract a noise model from the data. In the multiple
attenuation problem the noise becomes the multiples and the signal
becomes the primaries.
