Simulation

The system was initialized using a datum pressure of 300 bars at the gas-oil contact at a depth of 1710 m. The water-oil contact was at 1830 m.

The reservoir was produced under primary production for the first 6 months using 24 production wells producing at 5000 $\rm m^3 / day$ and a minimum bottom-hole pressure constraint of 200 bars. After 6 months of primary production, 17 injection wells were added injecting water at 5000 $\rm m^3 / day$ with a maximum bottom-hole pressure constraint of 400 bars. The total simulation time was 3 years. Only vertical wells were included in the simulation.

Example fluid distributions at 3 years for a vertical cross-section and a horizontal slice are shown in Figures [*] and [*]. Water injection has clearly reduced the size of the gas cap (Figure [*]), and water injection is seen to be influenced by gravity, as shown by the cone-like pattern around the injection wells (Figure [*] a).
