Singular value decomposition for cross-well tomography

ABSTRACT

Singular value decomposition is performed on the matrices that result in tomographic velocity estimation from cross-well traveltimes in isotropic and anisotropic media. The singular vectors in both data and model space are presented along with their corresponding singular values for a simple geometry.
