Two-dimensional environmental data examples

Using the idea of recursive filter preconditioning, which I illustrated on 1-D synthetic examples at the beginning of this chapter, and the multi-dimensional tools of the previous section, we can now proceed to multi-dimensional tests. In the first set of tests, I use simple environmental data sets. Such data are convenient for quick testing while appearing less artificial than synthetic examples. I proceed to seismic data examples after fully developing the regularization tools in Chapter [*].
