After getting lost, I found myself on an unstable talus slope at 11,500' or so. But at least I recognized the distinctive shape of Helen Lake, so I wasn't lost anymore. Anyway, before making the humiliating and seemingly endless descent down to my campspot next to Helen Lake, I snapped this picture. On the left, Helen Lake, with Kuna Crest and Mammoth Peak in the background. Spillway Lake sits in the valley of Parker Pass Creek below, at an elevation of roughly 10,400 feet.
