OK, so the summit is not exactly a "wilderness experience", but provided that it's not TOO crowded, you'll be entertained. On this day (April 26, 2003), the Mini Cooper club of the Bay Area (assuming it exists) had a meeting on the summit. Many of the older cars had some trouble making it, and nearly overheated.
