Walking San Francisco (FalconGuide)
By Liz Gans and Rick Newby. Amazon quote: "I love this book. I have done about 7 of the walks so far and they have all been brilliant."
What's here?
Mom & Dad's September, 2002 visit -
Surprisingly, after five years of school, I hadn't been to Alcatraz.
We took a long day and hiked to Coit Tower and on to Fisherman's
Wharf, where we toured the WWII submarine USS Pampanito before boarding
the ferry to Alcatraz. The place is amazing, especially on a pleasant
fall day.
Twin Peaks - To kill some time on a wonderfully
sunny February 2, 2003, Kim and I hiked from the Mission District to the top
of Twin Peaks, which at 910 feet above sea level, boasts what many consider
the U.S.'s premier "urban view".
