Dad's birthday present pictures from Andrew

Lets see if I can find Andrew's home page at Apple. Something like http://homepage.mac.com/AndrewPowers.

Please click on any picture to enlarge! Is this page downloading too slowly? It's dad's fault for putting too many thumbnails on one page. Tell him! Otherwise he'll never know because he has a DSL line.

Bed. Here is the master bedroom on the second floor of the dome.

Closet. This is the front door entrance to the dome and the closet along side it. Out the door is a sunroom to the left and stairway down ahead and to the right. Obviously we see the kitchen on the right. Above the kitchen is either the master bedroom or its closet.

Clothes. This is the clothes closet for the master bedroom.

Icefish. Here are some kids icefishing at Shelburne Farms. Notice the strange looking bearded man in back. Lucky Amy gave me the Shelburne Farms tee shirt so now I am learning how to spell Shelburne.

Kitchen in day. Here's a nice kitchen shot. Long distance view from the window.

Living room in day. Well, not exactly. The nicest part of the living room is the big window on the left that lets in lots of morning sun. This picture is shot from part way up the loft stairway. I cannot quite visualize what is behind the camera woman. I think it is an open area because the master bedroom is over the kitchen on the right. It's probably filled with construction stuff which is why they didn't take a picture of it.

Living room at night. I see mostly kitchen. The living room looks better on a day shot coming later.

Pantry. There are two wonderful things about this picture, the view of the sun porch, and the view out the window over the kitchen sink. I imagine Amy and Andrew stealthily observing deer outside while washing the dishes.

Plumbing. Here he is, the man himself, putting water in the shower.

Rug and stove. Now this is the living room shot that I've been waiting for. Isn't this beautiful? It is really very bright, but the windows are brighter so the camera lens stopped itself down. Yup, there's the construction junk above the stairway. Don't worry, the steps will get a railing later. See that window behind the steps? There is a big pile of wood outside it. Once a week they open the window and pass in the wood.

Stove. They pass in enough wood to fill the wood box behind the stove which lasts a week. How do you like that slate hearth?

Tricky wood cutting. All these three-dimensional angles show that a dome is a carpenter's delight.

Vanity. Still working on the basics in the bathroom. This is the view from the throne.

Walk in closet upstairs master bedroom.

Window. Kitchen window at night featuring dome light over sink.

Window and door. Kitchen window and door at night. Too bad it ain't day.

Work room (on the main floor). Some day this will be a study or an extra bedroom
