Here lives the SEP responsibility list:

The list is written in ascii so that anyone can grep for keywords
in this database. Additionally there is a Perl shell "respons.pl"
which allows you to get a quick overview over the SEP's job distribution.
Try:

	respons -job

	respons -name

	respons -k jim

	respons -all | more

Here are a couple of things to know about this list:

o The list of responsible people are a team taking care of a job.
The team decides how to split-up the work.

o The responsibility attempts to assign to every person its preferred job.
That is of course hardly possible.

o Please, voice your opinions about the responsibility list (especially
   at review time).

o The list is reviewed every 6 months (15th of January and 15th of February)

o The list includes a list of specific tasks for each job:
These tasks should be completed before the next review deadline.

o 1/3 of your monthly wage depends on your job performance.
(keep in mind: twice that amount depends on your research progress).

o New students and students who well take care of their job get their
   desired job assignment.

o When assigning new jobs an attempt is made to move people as little
as possible (to avoid unnecessary learning curves).

o The jobs include semi-independent tasks and should allow each
team to freely design their solutions.

Funny numbers:

Each entry has two numbers which range in scale from 1 to 10. The
first number tries to capture the importance of the job for SEP's
mission. 10 is a very important job. The second number attempts to
express the price in workload which SEP pays. 10 is a very
work-intensive job. In a certain sense the two numbers present value
and cost.

You may want to watch out for jobs which have a high value/cost ratio:
these are jobs where SEP is doing great. Contrary jobs with low
value/cost ratio are jobs which SEP should perhaps not sustain.

Obviously, the numbers are only subjective estimates and you may want
to argue that your job is more important or that it requires little or
a lot of work. I am sure these numbers are wrong, but I still find
them interesting *smiles*.
