I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1961. I consider Dallas my home town, though.
I received a B.S. in Geophysics and another in Mathematics from Texas A+M University in 1983.
I received a Ph.D. from Stanford in 1991, and went off to a 3-year post-doc at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa.
1994-1999 I spent back in Tulsa again (within 500 feet of my original home!) working at the Amoco Tulsa Research Center.
I was finally pulled in by the ever-stronger geophysical gravitational gradient and I'm now located in the ``Energy Corridor'' of West Houston, working for BP-Amoco (they like to go by the name ``bp'').
