I found the missing bike parts while wondering through Deblin the previous night.
So I got up early and started to patch up my bicycle. Got everything squared away except for the back wheel, which had busted a few spokes due to the extra weight of the baggage.
Couldn't get the wheel back to true, so I took it down to a bicycle shop and got them to do it.
Sadly, this meant that I was a little bit late leaving Deblin, and reaching Lublin in daylight was going to be a little bit tight.
The weather started to close in, and the going was pretty miserable riding into a moderate headwind. Headed through a really nice forestland of pines and moss, and went by a number of really small villages off of the beaten path that probably hadnt changed much in 50 or 60 years.
I decided to got by some secondary roads to Lublin, which took me through some nice rolling country side. I didn't eat too big of a breakfast, so by about 60km I started to feel a little bit tired.
Stopped and eat at a roadside store by making plain sandwiches - and oh so many more of those to come.
Finally made it to Lublin with about 30 minutes of sunlight left, and found Hotel Victoria about 800m from the center of town.
Had a brief rest, and then headed into the main area.
Very nice Hapsburgian town, central European looking with a large pedestraan mall. A Polish wedding ceremony was going on, which I saw the end of. The married couple was backing out of the church and with each stepa relative would come up and kiss them, and hand them a cheque.
Found an Irish bar, and then migrated to an undergroud student night club "Coyot". Met a couple of students, and had a good time chatting with them about Polish politics, economy, etc.
Overall I had a few too many beers, and ended up back at the hotel ina pretty happy state, Oops!
