This paper in Physics Letters A was actually the first to present the fast algorithm for solution of the Marchenko equation. This paper has seldom if ever been cited. Our longer and more complete paper in Geophysics contains the same result but much more explanatory text. Also, the Geophysics paper does a fairly thorough job of comparing and contrasting the various discrete methods for solving the Marchenko and related equations for one-dimensional inversion.
