CONCLUSIONS

I have shown that poststack and prestack datuming can be efficiently done by the use of finite-difference wavefield extrapolation. This method can handle any velocity variation between the two datums. And it is very efficient and accurate. It has great potential for applications in land-static correction and for migration in complex velocity areas. By cascading this datuming with simpler migration methods, one can obtain an accurate and fast migration scheme.
