CONCLUSIONS

I have described a new method, named local paraxial ray method, for calculating the traveltimes and amplitudes associated with the WKB Green's functions. The method combines the features of both conventional ray tracing method and the recently developed finite difference method; hence I expect that proper uses of the method should allow us to overcome some serious difficulties encountered by other methods.
