Conclusions

By reducing IO requirements, random velocity boundaries have computational advantages for correlation-based imaging conditions, compared to damping boundary conditions. They can be further improved by systematically decreasing the mean velocity in the boundary. In VTI modeling/migration, the boundaries' effectiveness can be improved by systematically modifying $ \delta$ and $ \epsilon$ .
