Zoom on the ever-present Mount Conness from Dunderberg Peak's summit. Various and quickly changing rock hues point to the fact that this region sits on the edge of the Sierra Nevada Batholith. Any rocks in place before the granite's intrusion were cooked and chemically altered by superheated water.
