In October, 1999 we ventured into the Cathedral Lakes region of Yosemite NP.
The area is one of the most sought-after in terms of wilderness permits in
the entire park, and we felt quite lucky to score an overnight permit, although
October is the best time of the year for availability. We attempted to climb
Tresidder Peak and camped on Tresidder's North Ridge, which drops down to
Upper Cathedral Lake.
