Norway has a LOT of bridges, tunnels, and other forms of public infrastructure. In the US, a bridge like this would only be built to connect millions of people. In Norway, they'll build one to connect a few villages of a few thousand people to somewhere else. This acceptance, perhaps glorification, of decentralized villages typifies modern Norway.
