View to south from Quandary's summit. The reservoir, although green, is a member of the Blue Lakes. The Blue Lakes trailhead begins at the dam, and the very direct route from the summit to the trailhead is known as Cristo Couloir, but only when there is snow! I made the tedious descent anyway, not knowing that the route is usually not done without snow. As the crow flies, the distance to the trailhead is one mile...2600 feet below, for an average slope of 45 degrees.
