Angel Island - This large
(a few square miles) island is overshadowed in popularity and
fame by the much-smaller Alcatraz Island, but Angel Island's
views and activities are enough to make it stand alone as a
excellent day's destination.
Pride Mountain Vineyard -
Antoine and I helped Seth Haines acquire some electroseismic
data at this beautiful, fully-functioning winery, located high
on the ridge separating Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
Sonoma County Bike Rides -
We took three great rides in and around Sonoma County on April
The first was a Dry Creek Valley wine tour, with a side trip up
to the overlook which stands high above Lake Sonoma. Second was
a cold, but fantastic, ridge climb/ride on Meyers Grade Road,
near Fort Ross, CA. The last was an equally memorable jaunt to
the Lighthouse at Point Reyes National Seashore, CA.
Mount Tamalpais - On December 24,
2002, Kim, Lion the dog, and I climbed Mount Tamalpais via the
Temelpa Trail from Mill Valley. This short, but steep, trail
climbs over 1500 feet from the end of Summit Avenue in Mill
Valley. Far more satisfying than driving.
