By Paul Richins Jr.. Decent info, lots of good skiing ideas. Approaches/descents often imprecise--bring a map!

Do not ascend the southeast slope of Pyramid Peak from Twin Bridges unless the brush is covered with snow!

That being said, I'll keep this description short. We got a late start - 9 a.m., but we had no idea the going would be so tough. We ascended the slope directly, moving northwest from the Twin Bridges parking lot (6100 feet). As best as I can tell, the slope gains 1000 feet in 0.3 miles before abating at 7200 feet, for an average slope of 32 degrees.

After 90 minutes of really intense bushwacking, we had climbed a mere 600 feet of slope. Screw that! Next time we will
