New Stuff

I recently got lazy and stopped putting trip reports here. I generally just attach a short report to the image gallery. Here is a list of shortcuts in descending chronological order:

Running

OK! Rather than wallow in the loserhood that is the late stage of a PhD, Kim and I have done a good bit of "competitive" running, which I prattle on about on my new running page. I've got some race reports and run calculators, as well as the obvious "race list".

Bike Trips
We recently rediscovered the joys of biking after purchasing new bikes in January, 2001. In addition to commuting to Stanford from Mountain View, we have taken some great bike tours of different areas around San Francisco. I have included detailed route information for all rides, so hopefully what this section lacks in the obvious aesthetic appeal of say, our Yosemite trips, is compensated for by useful information.

Miscellany
Don't forget the daily bread. Yeah, those great hikes and runs in your own backyard that keep your heart pumping and your spirit primed for the call of the wild! The San Francisco Bay Area has some truly classic short hikes.

Some old text, banished to the page bottom!
