Hurricane demolishes poorly built old north end addition

Local landlord puzzled

My Vermont correspondent fresh off the phone reports that the interior of the downstairs apartment was also gutted. An invisible part of the demolition was moving an old cement driveway into three 20-ton dumpsters, one of which threw the dumpster truck into a wheelee.

Since then he rented a small Bobcat back hoe and dug eight holes four feet deep for 10" piers. A cement truck delivered 50 cubic feet of concrete.

Tomorrow there will be a crew of three working, later in the week, a crew of six. Quoting Powers, "No more piddling around!"

A new addition should materialize over the next several months. When finished the upstairs apartment should have 3 bedrooms and the downstairs 4 bedrooms, one with separate entrance.

Arrival of December pictures.
