Setomaa: Orthodox setomaa where the traditional folk music and costume is still alive. Tens of small, one hamlet, orthodox chapels, museums in Obimtsa, Varska and Saatse. Prehistoric barrows, the low shore anlong Lake Pinkva with wide valley-like bays; the Piusa river valley with high sandstone outcrops; Mesemai hill. on one day every year the Seto kingdom is proclaimed and celebrated. Once every three years a festival of traditional "leelo" songs is held. The jewel of setomaa is Petsen-monastery...but sadly that's on the russian side. Vastseliina linnus/Livonian order castle/regional stronghold...in ruins.
