I traveled to Namibia in June of 2002 to help some Stanford and U. C. Davis biologists record the seismic signals created by elephants. The experiment was designed to test the hypothesis that elephants communicate using seismic waves in the ground. The project is funded by the National Geographic Society, and so all photos here actually belong to them. Not that they'd really have any use for my shoddy work.
