Proposal for an earth science computing project at Stanford

An earth science computer project would pull together disorganized computer research
in various labs at Stanford. The essential part of the project is a faculty-level
research scientist able to conduct cutting edge research both in earth science and
computing. Research areas include data processing, simulation, visualization and basic
computer science.
