Velocity analysis of migrated seismic data after structural interpretation

Residual velocity analysis is often still necessary after the determination of
a global structural-velocity model. Reflection events in the unstacked migrated
data can be used for this analysis. The depth variations of these events are
inverted to find local velocity perturbations, where the variations are either
determined from picking the events, or from semblance calculations.
