• Kernel configuration
  • Support for ramdisk (at least 8 MB)
  • Support for NFS Boot
  • Network card support built in (not a module)
  • Support for network block device support
  • Support for Loopback device support
  • Initial randisk support
  • Support for Journaling file system support
  • IP Kernel level autoconfiguration
  • DHCP Support
  • SMP SUpport
  • MTRR Support
  • RTC Support
  • Support for serial console
• make
• Login as root
  • Follow node building procedure for changing initial files
  • Make sure that xinetd.d is installed and started
  • Install the latest version of ntp ln -s /net/koko/homes /homes ln -s /net/koko/linux_local /usr/local
  • ln -s /usr/local/pgi /usr/pgi
• From okok
  • rcp /cluster/node_setup/etc* newnode:/etc
• Reboot the node and check to make sure everything is working
