I am in my 6th (hopefully the last) year at Stanford, working towards my Ph.D. degree in Geophysics.

Research interests

I am broadly interested in exploration geophysics, which includes but not limited to:
  • Seismic wave simulation
  • Seismic inversion for structural imaging
  • Data processing and denoising
  • Earth model building in data and image space
  • Integration of multiple types of datasets
  • Seismic exploration and monitoring for unconventional reservoirs

Thesis topic

The goal of my thesis study is to build a reliable anisotropic subsurface model. Here are a few aspects of my thesis:
  • Efficient anisotropic wave modeling and imaging
  • Image-space wave-equation based anisotropic tomography
  • Constrained inversion by rock physics
  • Inversion results consistent with previous lithological interpretation
Here is a Research Summary for inexperienced students and general audience.
