Kim and I did an overnight trip into the Mokelumne Wilderness from Carson Pass
on May 22-23, 2003. We toured a couple miles and camped above Winnemucca Lake
at 9100 feet elevation. The following morning we ascended to the west shoulder
of Round Top and skied some gentle east-facing slopes. They were getting
sloppy quick, so we moved to the northwest-facing slopes of Elephants Back.
After an enjoyable run we headed back for camp and packed up before an
approaching thunderstorm dumped on us.
Lots of snow and nice weather, courtesy of some big April storms.
