Our vision:
Eco-Care Professional Housecleaning is owned by nine low-income women from Morgan Hill, Hollister, and San Martin. We have been working since1999 to realize our dream of owning our own business.
Before opening our business, we participated in over 70 hours of cleaning training, in which we learned methods and techniques of ecologically sound cleaning. Through this training, we learned to use a variety of environmentally friendly products such as baking soda, white vinegar, and vegetable-based soaps. These products, when combined with our specialized cleaning techniques, are at least, if not more, effective than conventional cleaning methods which harm the environment and the health of our customers and ourselves.
In addition to our cleaning training, we have participated in programs through Women’s Action to Gain Economic Security, a non-profit organization in Oakland that helps empower low-income women to start their own businesses. With WAGES' support, we enhanced our skills in budgeting, financial management, conflict resolution, and other aspects of administering our business. Through the Learning and Loving Education Center in Morgan Hill, we also improved our English and computer skills.
