The model consists of reflectors that form the word TARIQ (my name). The synthetic data were generated considering a transversely isotropic medium with eta=0.15 and velocity increase with depth given by v(z)=1.5+0.8 z km/s.

Poststack phase-shift migrations of zero-offset data. Left: using an anisotropic migration. Right: using an isotropic one.

Prestack phase-shift migrations of 2-km-offset data. Left: using an anisotropic migration. Right: using an isotropic one.

Ignoring anisotropy did not help my name. As expected, errors in the prestack migrated section are larger than those in the poststack ones when anisotropy is ignored.

I tried to do the same with the word 'Jon', surprisingly the isotropic result came out better even when anisotropic media are considered??? Probably this name does not lend it self to anisotropy! Just kidding.
