From PowerPoint to TIFF - Stew Levin I recently wanted to export a graphic from a MacIntosh PowerPoint document to a TIFF file. As PowerPoint does not have a TIFF export function, a more roundabout method was devised: 1) Use the PowerPoint "Save As" menu to save a copy in ScrapBook format. Use the filename "ScrapBook File" and place it in the "System" folder. 2) Open Microsoft Word on the Mac, and set the Page Layout to Landscape (horizontal). Use the Apple menu to open the ScrapBook and copy the graphic to the clipboard. Paste the graphic into the new Word document and save it to disk. 3) Transfer the Word file to your PC. Be sure to use "binary" or equivalent settings to preserve the file intact. 4) Open the file in Word for Windows (version 6 is compatible between Mac and PC). Use "Save As" to save a copy in "WordPerfect 5.x" format. 5) Open the file with WordPerfect 5.2 and click the right mouse button on the box containing the (undisplayed) graphic. Select "Edit Box" from the popup menu and use "Save As" to save the graphic as a WPG file. "Cancel" and "Exit" WordPerfect. 6) Start up a "New" Freelance presentation, selecting "blank.mas" for the master, and "[None]" for the template. Use the File Import command to bring in the WPG file. Then use the File Export selection to export the graphic to a TIF file. Whew!
