Jest was designed to enable researchers
to prototype complex inversion problems rapidly,
to scale the prototyped solutions to large data examples,
to maintain and reuse the software developed for different projects,
to publish the results effectively, and
to encourage collaboration among researchers of the same laboratory,
of distant laboratories,
and across disciplines.
