Images are usually responsible for sluggish loading of web pages. We strongly recommend using the WIDTH and HEIGHT attributes with images. Specifying the image size in this way allows the browser to display the text first and down-load the images later. (Next time you down-load the SEP web page watch for the delayed display of the SEP headline.) To make our web pages readable even by text-only browsers, we added to each image an ALT statement that can be displayed in lieu of the image.
