- Home directories: are backed up daily to disk and weekly to tape.
You can restore the daily backups by use of the restoresep
command on oas (go man restoresep to obtain a more detailed
description). Only the previous two days are stored on tape, if
what you are looking for is older than that, you need contact
Computer Administration Support Team (CAST)().
- Personal devices: are backed up twice annually
immediately following each SEP report. The person responsible
for backups should provide you with a tape containing your drive contents
shortly after the SEP report.
- Others : /usr/local/src, /usr/local/share, /advance, and the root
drives on all the servers are also backed up weekly by CAST.
Recover files by following the same procedure as for home directories.
