Coherent noise is often strong enough to interfere with the
interpretation or analysis of seismic data.
Coherent noises often encountered in reflection seismic data
are ground roll, air blasts, and trapped waves.
Typically, these noises show velocities that are different from
the desired reflection events and may also have frequency spectra that
can be used to distinguish them from the desired events.
In this section I demonstrate a method to separate coherent noise
and signal.
