The framework for the statics program is the same that I have used previously for 3-D data interpolation Cole and Claerbout (1992) and noise suppression Cole (1993). In fact, the computer program included with the CD-ROM version of this report includes the earlier data processing capabilities, along with the addition of the statics method described in this paper.

The resulting algorithm has three main parts - dip estimation, statics solution, and interpolation.
