CONCLUSIONS

The straightforward implementation of the DSR equation uses constant samples of the variable kh. This implementation introduces artifacts, erroneously attributed to Fourier wraparound in offset domain. By varying the sampling interval for kh I eliminate these artifacts. This leads to a phase-shift prestack migration algorithm which can be applied to each offset separately. While this algorithm is slower overall compared to the classic DSR migration, it allows the migration of separate constant-offset sections which can be used for velocity analysis, amplitude versus offset studies and migration to zero-offset operator studies.
