CONCLUSIONS

The visualization of large 3-D poststack and prestack datasets is crucial for the development of innovative methods and algorithms for processing 3-D surveys. The size and dimensionality of 3-D surveys require visualization tools that can handle datasets with more than three dimensions and spanning many gigabytes of data. By exploiting the data-handling capabilities of SEP's CM-5 and the modular design of CM/AVS we have developed a visualization tool for visualizing large multi-dimensional datasets. The same tools used for the visualization of seismic data can be integrated with tools that visualize other geophysical datasets, such as velocity models and geological models.
