Conclusions

Mono-frequency Green's functions can be computed using phase shift or finite-difference schemes in either rectangular or polar coordinates. In polar coordinates the $45^\circ$ $\omega-x$ approximation will give accurate high dip results at low dip cost. The $\omega-x$ domain method also handles laterally variable velocity more robustly than the PSPI method that is required for high dip accuracy in rectangular coordinates.
