Conclusion

The interpolation of the Sea of Galilee dataset on a regular grid is addressed as a noise attenuation problem where the Huber norm (Chapter [*]) and the noise modeling approach (Chapter [*]) simultaneously eliminate the damaging effects of bad data points and tracks. This data set exemplifies the need for identifying the correct statistics in order to choose the right norm but also the need for modeling the noise as often as possible. In the next Chapter, the pattern-based approach of Chapter [*] is used to remove surface related multiples.
